How much does it cost?
You get lots of credits free to get you started. Most tracks are 1 credit per play although some are 2 or 3. Once you’ve used them up, you top up to get more. Each credit costs 1p / 1c / 1€c (minimum $1 / £0.50 / 1€ per transaction). There is no monthly subscription fee and no commitment.
How many plays do I get for £10?
£10 buys 1,000 credits and most tracks cost 1 credit (although some cost 2 or 3) so you get around 1000 plays.
Do credits expire?
Is Psonar good value for money?
If you currently spend £10 a month on another subscription service but listen to less than around 1,000 tracks each month, then Psonar is better value for you. We don’t charge you for what you don’t use.
Is buying credit online safe?
How do I buy credits?
If you’re using an Android or BlackBerry 10 and are in the UK, you can pay in-app on your mobile phone bill (contract or pre-pay) with a few clicks. The UK and everywhere else can also pay in-app with a debit / credit card.
If you have an iPhone or are not in the UK, you can pay via your profile page on the Psonar website.
What mobile networks can I pay with?
We have agreements with the following UK operators and are adding more all the time:
Orange, T-Mobile, Three, Virgin.
Users not on these networks are still able to pay by credit / debit card.
How do I buy credits using my iPhone?
You can’t do it with the iPhone app (Apple’s rules.) Log in to the Psonar website, go to your profile and click ‘Add credit’.
Do I have to pay data charges?
Check the data allowance in your mobile contract. If you’re within your limit, you won’t pay. Data charges can be expensive out of bundle so don’t exceed your allowance. Streaming over wifi is free.
Can I give music to my friends?
Yes, you can use your credits to give a gift. You can give them a track, album or playlist via any of the available methods on your phone (e.g. Facebook, SMS, email, etc.) Your friend just clicks the link you send them to play the music you’ve chosen in one of our apps.
What is the difference between giving a gift and sharing a link?
If you give a gift, you use your credits to pay for the gift and the recipient listens for free. If you share a link, the recipient uses their credits to listen.
How do I gift and share?
Click the blue gift / share button and follow the prompts.
I created a gift but decided not to send it. Why did my credits go down?
Think of a Psonar gift like a gift voucher you buy from a shop. You pay when you buy the voucher, not when you send it to the recipient. Paying for a Psonar gift is exactly the same – you pay (with your credits) when you click the ‘Gift (n credits)’ button in the Gift / Share popup menu because it’s at this point you’ve created the link to the gifted tracks.
I can’t find some music on the webapp
Due to rights restrictions some tracks are not available on our webapp but you can enjoy all of our music on the Psonar Android, iPhone and BlackBerry 10 apps.
Can I buy MP3s?
No. We’re not a download service.
Can I upload my own music?
No. We’re not a locker service.
