First of all, login to SongShifter™ using your username and password. You can reset a forgotten passord here.

SongShifter™ will now lead you through the short series of steps required to configure all your devices for use with Psonar.

Usually, the first device to configure will be the computer you are running SongShifter™ on as you can see in this screenshot.

If you choose not to configure this device now, you'll be asked again when restarting SongShifter™.

The next step prompts you to describe the device you are configuring by selecting the type of device it is and by giving it a name. You can choose anything you like as a name but it must be different for each of your devices.

If you are configuring a computer (either desktop or laptop) you'll now be given the chance to select the folders you want SongShifter™ to scan for music. Don't worry about finding all your tracks now as you can always update this list of folders later. If you click on the button to 'Add music folders' you will be shown a view of the folders on your computer from which you may select additional folders.

If you are configuring a mobile device, such as a phone or mp3 player then SongShifter™ will skip this step and just scan the whole device for music.

Select additional folders using the 'Browse For Folder' popup.

Congratulations! You have successfully configured your first device that you can manage using Psonar. If you have more mobile devices plugged in to your computer you can configure them now. You'll be led through steps 2-5 again for each device that you wish to configure.

Once you have configured all your devices, SongShifter™ will start scanning to find all the songs stored on them. As it finds new tracks it will tell Psonar that you own them and if necessary start uploading them into the cloud so that you can access them from any where at any time. To see the current status of each device you can click on its icon on the left-hand side.

You can now minimise SongShifter™ (its icon appears in the System Tray) and let it work away in the background keeping your music collection in sync with the Psonar Cloud.

You can unplug your mobile devices at any time and SongShifter™ will resume scanning or syncing them whenever they are next plugged in.

Once SongShifter™ has started uploading the information about your music collection to Psonar, it displays a confirmation message. You can click on the red button to see what information the SongShifter™ has already uploaded.
